Averaging 5 1/2 knots it took 58 hours to travel 330 nautical miles from the east coast of Peurto Rico to Peurto Plata in the Dominican Republic. We caught a nice Blackfin Tuna which we had for supper on the first night out. After that it got a bit rough so the meals became much simpler! Our autohelm couldn't cope with the big waves so we had to handsteer for about 12 hours. We arrived at dusk on the third day amid a torrential downpour. A procession of officials came on the boat - all soaking wet. We spent the next day drying everything out.
After 3 days on the boat the kids couldn't wait to get on shore despite the rain!
Hooray! The Easter Bunny found us after all.
Ocean World Marine Park is right next door to the Marina.
Swimming with the dolphins was amazing. These two dolphins came from Cuba. They are males 8 and 9 years old.
