Our next stop is Carriacou. We sailed north on October 12th - leaving St George's in Grenada and heading for Tyrell Bay in Carriacou. We were hit by a squall half way and decided to overnight at Round Island where we found a beautiful anchorage with crystal clear water. The next day we finished our journey and arrived in Tyrell Bay around lunchtime. Paul and Sheila from que Rico were waiting for us with some nice cold beer!
Diamond Island next to Round Island. We sailed past "Kick'em Jenny", an underwater volcano (still active) that created these islands. Another island is expected to break the surface in the next 100 years.
Sunset in Tyrell Bay, Carriacou.
Cookout on Sandy Island with Menno, Val, Daniel, and Jon from Eira.
We decided to head up to Tobago Cays in the Grenadines for a few days while we wait for our dodger to be sewn. We met up with La Galipot and Eira to do some trick-or-treating. The snorkeling was fantastic (sea turtles and a nurse shark), and the beaches are white sand and very clean.
The kids checking out the traditional boat building.
Cricket on the beach.
The boys hard at work opening coconuts.
Trick-or-treat!
This boat is called Snow White - but we didn't see any dwarves.
Captain Randy from Halifax used to sail for Sea Schools out of Woods Hole. He knows the Captain of the Corwith Cramer and was able to get us a tour of the ship while it stayed in Carriacou.
Ben & Emma check out the science lab on the Corwith Cramer. They are looking at some of the creatures that the Cramer has sampled at depths of up to 5000 meters.
Ben & Emma on the bowsprit with Rick - the Chief Engineer. The ship runs 6 week cruises after a 6 week shore session. It is aimed at college students interested in oceonographic research and marine biology.

Picnic lunch on Petite Tabac.
Martin on Merlin. He and his wife and son cruised from Portugal. He stitched our new dodger. He also plays a mean sax on friday nights at the Lambi Queen!
Rick sailed from South Africa on a catamaran he built himself. He has been cruising the Caribbean for 12 years. He got a part in Pirates of the Caribbean. You will recognize him holding the dress when Kiera stows away on the Pirate Ship.
Monkeys swinging at Saltwhistle Bay in Mayreau.
Playing on the beach at the Tamarind Resort in Canouan.
Lisa at the Tamarind Resort.
A view of the reef from the top of the hill in Canouan.
Next stop was the island of Mustique. This is a very exclusive island. Mick Jagger and David Bowie have homes here (we didn't see anyone famous though).
Looking for fresh croissants at the bakery.
Basil's "famous" beachfront restaurant. We saw Basil (in a bright yellow Mumu - but no sign of Mick Jagger or David Bowie!
